Class Blog #5

Don't teach your kids this stuff

I really enjoyed this blog, Mr.Mcleod just exposed technology as a whole and what our kids are learning on a day to day basis. Computers, cell phones, Internet, tv all contribute to our kids being brainwashed and exposed. We have consumed ourselves so much with technology we fail to see what's actually going on.
I can only imagine what high tech things my kids will have going on in the future. I have a 10yr old son he already been sneaking and watching porn on his PS3. I had to turn up the parental controls so he won't be able to see it. Kids have too much access to porn sites and other mature things kids shouldn't be able to see.

I SCHOOL

I'm totally against kids being taught virtual not by interaction or hands on. Students that's in college such as myself have a hard enough time doing computer based or online classes. Because it seems like your teaching yourself and you really can't get the feel for the work or classroom this way. There should be a stopping point when it comes to all this technology and this isn't it.
Kids have a right to be taught by an teacher not by a computer, this makes our jobs as educators unnecessary because it shrinks the teaching field even more then it already is. We have to give our full attention to our future students and educators. I love a lot of things you can do with computers from home but not the whole class. We still need pens, pencils and paper in my opinion. Hands on is the best teaching tool we have let's not lose that in today's schools.

Teaching in the 21st Century

I don't even believe there will be a place for us future educators in our world that we are heading towards. All the jobs willbe computer operated and there will be less need for teachers. I hope the I world doesn't take over until I'm done teaching. It's a very scary concept and idea.
Kids can now sit home in front of there pc's and iPads, cell phones and etc. to do all their class assignments without pen and paper there will be no need for so many teachers. It's hard enough for us to even get classes as well as jobs.

  1. "Mr.Mcleod just exposed technology as a whole and what our kids are learning on a day to day basis. Computers, cell phones, Internet, tv all contribute to our kids being brainwashed and exposed.” You missed the sarcasm.

The two paragraphs you copied MUST have a source listed and must be in quotation marks or indented. Otherwise you are plagiarizing.

"I don't even believe there will be a place for us future educators in our world that we are heading towards.” So why are you entering the field of education? Maybe owing a bar is better!
